The very popular smart compact car from Subaru, the Impreza has been developed further and is being re-launched in 2012. It is available in a four door sedan and a five door hatchback format. As with all cars from Subaru, the Impreza has an all time four wheel drive. This though pushes up the fuel economy and the price of the new 2012 Impreza. It offers a good handling, a decent ride and in spite of its 4 wheel drive, a brilliant fuel economy.

The Impreza is the smallest car that is sold by Subaru and it is estimated that the new 2012 model will deliver a cool 36 mpg on the highway which is very much comparable to its completion i.e. the Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta and the Chevrolet Cruze.  Though this car will be completely built in Japan, it will be first showcased in the New York Auto Show. The car will be powered by a 2.0 litre engine paired with a six speed automatic gearbox.
