The car is the offering of the ford mortar company that was taken over by the prestigious Indian brand Tata Motors. The grand tourer made its first public appearance in the year 1996 at the Geneva Motor Show and is the successor for the XJS. The car is available as the stylish coupe or a convertible. The car is now in its second generation.
The newest version of the car is the XK150 and is designed as the advanced lightweight coupe. The version made itself public in the year 2005. The XK cars have an option of a 4.2 l and a 5l engine with Venus 19” alloy wheels. The weight of the convertible is around a 16300kgs while that of the coupe is 1595kgs. The car was the first to introduce the pedestrian deployable bonnet system which protects the ones outside the car as well. The innovative design and great features have made it a favorite and it won itself the ‘GT of the year’ award in the year 2006.
