The Pontiac Torrent is available in GXP and base trim levels. For both trim levels, there is a choice between an all-wheel drive and a front-wheel drive. The Pontiac Torrent can carry five passengers and its standard features include air conditioning, 16 inch alloy wheels, cruise control, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker audio system with satellite radio. The GXP model has 18 inch wheels, remote start, dual exhaust, privacy glass, audio controls for the steering wheel, and multilevel heating for the front seats. The optional features for both models include a navigation system and an upgraded 7-speaker audio system.

The base model comes with a 3.4 liter V6 engine with 185 horsepower and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The GXP model has a 3.6 liter V6 engine with 264 horsepower with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Its safety features include traction control, antilock brakes, stability control and OnStar telematics. It also has about 35 cubic feet of trunk space.
